Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ingredio mobile application and related services (the "App"), operated by Ingredio ("Ingredio," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.

2. Your Account

To use certain features (such as saving and syncing recipes), you must create an account using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the App.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Import, upload, or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that you do not have the right to use;
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except as permitted by law;
Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, our servers, or our backend services;
Use automated systems to access the service in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce; or
Misuse the import features to violate the terms of service of third-party platforms (such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook, or Reddit).

5. Your Content and Imported Content

You retain ownership of the recipes, photos, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant Ingredio a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the App to you.

When you import a recipe from a third-party source, that source's content (including text, images, and video) remains the property of its respective owner. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and use such content, and for complying with the originating platform's terms. Ingredio is a tool that helps you organize recipes and is not responsible for third-party content.

6. AI-Generated Content and Recipe Disclaimer

Important: Recipes in the App — including those that are imported, scanned, or generated using AI — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs. Ingredio does not provide professional nutritional, dietary, medical, or food-safety advice. Always verify ingredients, cooking instructions, allergens, and food-safety practices before preparing or consuming any dish. You use recipes and AI-generated content at your own risk.

7. Premium / Subscriptions

The App may offer optional paid features or subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription, billing is handled by the Apple App Store (or Google Play) under their terms. Prices and features may change. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your app store account settings before the renewal date. Refunds are handled according to the applicable app store's policies.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on and links to third-party services (including Supabase, OpenAI, Apple, and Google) and may display links to third-party websites and content. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third parties. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, logos, and software (excluding Your Content and third-party content), is owned by Ingredio and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that recipes or AI output will be accurate or reliable.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ingredio and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ingredio and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the App or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Apple App Store Terms

If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Ingredio, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Your use of the App must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (LAEULA).

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of Ingredio is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
